Chato Stewart’s Keto Diet Weight Loss Update: Keto What?
I’m 3 months without sweets, bread, pasta, rice or wheat. Doing the Keto (Ketogenic) diet* is not for the faint of heart.
Three weeks into the change, I had a doctor’s visit and my doctor was so impressed with my AIC and weight loss that she gave me numerous suggestions on how to make Keto successful.
Whats A Ketone?
I’m still learning three months into this…learning about nutrition, how food effect my body and mood…what the heck are Ketones??? No, they are not some doo-wop 50’s band.
Ok, being honest, I never heard the name of the “Ket-a-tonic diet”. My friend gave up trying to help me pronounce “Ketogenic”, told me I can it called Keto.
What is Keto (Ketogenic) diet anyway, and why did I choose it? Called Keto “KEY-toe” because it measures your Ketones “KEY-tones“. In simple terms, it’s a low carb, high-fat diet. I grabbed this quote from a PDF a friend sent me for a crash course for beginners. Feel free to Google Dr. David Jockers if you want to check out his stuff.
“A ketogenic diet is a very low carbohydrate, moderate protein and high fat based nutrition plan. A ketogenic diet trains the individual’s metabolism to run off of fatty acids or ketone bodies. Here is the simplest answer I have to anyone that asks me “why Keto?”
Cause on this diet, I can eat bacon!
You got to love a diet that allows lots of bacon!

I’m not a Keto expert, I’m barely a beginner. Starting my 14th week, I am happy to report: 5 more pounds down.
