This 3 part Top 10 Mental Health Humor Cartoon Post of 2013 is based on the last 12 months of Google Analytics for 2013 blog posts only. Instead of just listing the 10 most popular posts, I thought I would have a bit of fun and let you into some of the thoughts and reasons I drew the cartoons. I might tell you about something you might of missed or looked at in a different way, or maybe you will get the joke, or realize it’s not funny… whatever the case you will read Chato’s Notes.

Here are Top Two of the Mental Health Humor Cartoon blog posts for 2013:

2013 Mental Health Humor - Bad taste in men - Chato Stewart

Chato’s Notes:
I knew I was going to walk a finite line with a twist on this stereotype. My thought was Gail’s “taste” in men (being that Gail was a female monster) bad – she was away eating bad tasting food/men. Ya, kind of a hard stretch and twist joke. But I was trying to make it empowering to women. I did not want to draw a sexy woman picking up a drunk guy, or any woman because…anything of women in that role of Gail could be misunderstood.

50th Anniversary Community Mental Health Act

Chato’s Notes:
I was so inspired after reading Dr. John M. Grohol, Psy.D. World of Psychology post “50 Years Later, Mental Health Care in America Still Hard to Come By“. In the cartoon there I drew “Bill” with his dentures out and missing a tooth. I guess in my mind, symbolizing the bill/law having no teeth today. Also around the party hat there are only pennies = no money.
