This 3 part Top 10 Mental Health Humor Cartoon Post of 2013 is based on the last 12 months of Google Analytics for 2013 blog posts only. Instead of just listing the 10 most popular posts, I thought I would have a bit of fun and let you into some of the thoughts and reasons I drew the cartoons. I might tell you about something you might of missed or looked at in a different way, or maybe you will get the joke, or realize it’s not funny… whatever the case you will read Chato’s Notes.
Here are Four of the TOP 10 Mental Health Humor Cartoon blog post for 2013:
Chato’s Notes: Anger shows up in my cartoons a lot… It is said, that an artist “truth to their soul is found at the tip of Ink Quill” – Okay no one famous said that, I just made it up. What some one did say is: you write/draw on from what you know. I know self-hate, depression, rage, twisted thinking and very dark moments and I also know about recovery, I know things can get better, I know about hope, faith. I try to draw with a positive message, but the skeptic that’s inside me comes out. Still- my goal is to high-light the Mental Health condition in a way others can understand it, yes, as with the the cartoon…with confusion.
#4Meds? Eeyore: <sad look on his face>
Caption: Tiggers do not bounce with seasonal affective disorder Chato’s Notes: Having 4 children, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read them the Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh and his friends. My kids always had more affection for Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet. Well, Pooh was just Poo to them. Can I say that? For me, Eeyore = Depression; Tigger = mania; Piglet=anxiety. I would draw more of them, but it’s hard to poke fun at something so loved.
Chato’s Notes: “Socially Acceptable” was the only punch line I needed to draw this cartoon. Something about smile on the e-cig face says something else.
