    Wish I knew what you do when you get a halfhearted apology in therapy from your husband, but then get the feeling in your gut that he has never “gotten” in any sense what he did to you and never has felt responsible for doing the things he didn’t do.

    This is a great piece. You covered so many aspects of forgiveness in relationships – including setting boundaries when hurtful actions don’t stop. We tend to find in our work that we get people to a precipice and forgiveness is the only way through and beyond that place.
