WOW! This totally describes my family. I always thought they had narcissistic personality disorder but maybe it’s Asperger’s instead. Who knows? It seems like there’s some overlap in symptoms. I have such a difficult time with them because it feels so self-centered when they do this and I want my family to have better empathy for others. I try to explain that I do not like being “talked at” but for the normal give and take in conversation. When I try to explain this to them it either goes over their head or they choose not to hear me. So frustrating but I give you kudos for finding a way to deal with it. Small doses! I like it.
