The God Element

“God wants a clean fight, What God wants God gets, Don’t look so surprised, It’s only dogma” Roger Waters

Ingrained in the human psyche is the “God element.” If you understand how this works you will understand how a lot of evil in this world happens.

Lenin photoGod made human beings for a specific purpose and that was that mankind should give God praise and glory. Let me stop there and say that to those who are ignorant God’s actions seem very egotistical to say the least. But this will go away when we understand that “God is love.” The primary concern of man then is trying their fellow man properly. Recall that the greatest commands to love God and love one’s neighbor are inseparable. So if we follow God then we will treat one another with love. Gone will be wars, poverty, loneliness and all other banes. Sadly, man rejects God and refuses to obey him. Rather man chooses greed and selfishness.

But inside every human spirit, there is this God element. Even if it is not occupied by God something or someone must fill the vacancy. Understanding this single element is key to understanding much irrational behavior of mankind.

Let’s take a look at Marxists which are quite a laughable group as far as unity goes. Marxists vehemently oppose the notion of a deity. Yet these groups have not only gods but sacred texts. In a Marxist discussion if one quotes Marx it takes the authority of sacred scripture. Furthermore, some leaders take bigger than life statues.  Among these would be Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky, and Mao. Trotskyites are perhaps the most notorious. They continually quote Trotsky trying to make his words a solution to every problem mankind has. We have all seen those famous larger than life depictions of the champions of Marxism. In a Marxist society, these figures become a god.

On a side note, it is so sad that Marxists are fragmented. While I totally object Marx’s methods his vision of a Utopian workers states is one that I embrace. Unfortunately, Marxists are involved in an endless debate over nuances. I once asked a devout Marxist “If you agree on ninety percent of your theory why don’t you unite over the common ground?” The reply is that “The ten percent will what leads us to victory.” Unfortunately, as much as I would like to see it a Marxist revolution is not on the horizon. Rather I see a fractured group bickering amongst themselves over minutia that really doesn’t matter.

Let us apply the God factor to Donald Trump. There is no doubt who is the god of Trump and this is his greedy and selfish self. Trump tells lies so frequently it might be that he is totally delusional. The fact that his cabinet is constantly get shuffled and reshuffled clearly indicates that nobody can get along with the man. Trump’s tongue frequently praises himself and despite his professed Christianity, there is not one Christian bone in the man’s body. Yet if the man is so terrible then why does he have that core of devoted followers.

The answer is that Trump has become this faction’s god or at least the dogma Trump espouses has captured their hearts. It is all in the slogan “Make America Great Again.” While this slogan is often thrown out and is seen on red hats it is purposely ambiguous. Exactly what do you mean by making America great again and what concrete steps will you take to do so. Well, one thing Trump promised was a wall on the Mexican border. The president has gone as far as threatening to shut down the government over lack of funding. This sits well with all of Trump’s followers who somehow have developed amnesia to the fact that Mexico was going to pay for the wall. But that matters little to the zealous Trumpites after all nobody expects little tin gods to be perfect.

Heed this word of caution Donald Trump and his followers are a very dangerous lot. If his core followers haven’t seen exactly who the man is by now they never will. And that is the crux of the problem, they see Donald Trump in all his filth and embrace him fully as their leader, even Messiah. It is true what Donald Trump said he could shoot somebody and not lose his popularity.

Remember we are built to have faith in something and that something is God. So it is perfectly natural that when something outside of God occupies that domain a human being gives the occupier god-like attributes. That is why people will serve blindly without question. I want you to make a self-examination and discover what you hold above everything else. People who have put the state as number one has been cleverly manipulated to march off to war for the glory of their leaders and nations. Only God deserves to hold His proper place in your life but remember above all God is love.

For some interesting thoughts look at my book of poetic utterances called “Letting It Out.”
