This Insane Planet Earth

“And no-one kills the children anymore” Pink Floyd

Just the idea of  a nuclear weapon is beyond insane. Why would anybody want to build a weapon, when if used it has the potential to destroy all life on planet Earth? And not only was it created at great expense, but it has been modified and perfected to give a bigger bang for the buck. That’s insane!

There is plenty of blame to go around and many guilty parties. There is of course the engineers and scientists. Don’t absolve these people from their role. Without their many years of effort there would be no weapons of mass destruction or even weapons at all.

The politicians of course have a good portion and a healthy chunk of evil pie. It was under their guidance that these weapons were constructed. Furthermore it was the governments that could not find peaceful resolution for international problems. The primary reason that there was never a peaceful period on planet Earth is because war is so expedient, especially when one thinks they are going to win.

The profiteers, those warlocks from Wall Street or whatever financial institutions they may be are perhaps the pushing force for armed conflict. When there is money to be made and when one worships that money, war becomes expedient. It is good for business and a quick way to get rich. Never mind that this group of people already have more wealth than they can spend in a life time.

The press is at fault with their inflammatory language stirring up feelings of ill will and hatred. They tell the public distortions and outright lies in order to get them to hate the enemy.

The religious leaders fail not only man but god. It is a mockery that every religion claims to be a religion of peace but when war is approaching the patriotic rhetoric from the pulpit does not reflect the language they claim that god has. If anything the religious leaders of the world should lead the way for all people to coexist in a peaceful harmony.

There is the public of course who not only tolerates war but zealously waves the flag and sings patriotic songs for the glory of the country.

Let us not forget the military itself. This I divide into two sections. The one are the officers, in particular the generals and those who have made the military their career. These people know the game, they understand the scam. There is no glory in war and the only people who benefit from it are those behind the scenes.

And lastly come those who fight the war which always seems to be the  young men of the poor. The rich people who benefit manage to get their sons out of harm’s way. Instead those who have the least, sacrifice for those who have the most, in the process destroying their own lives and the lives of many other innocent people.

So here we are on the brink of nuclear war. We are thinking the unthinkable. The United States in it’s arrogance demands the North Korea dismantle it’s nuclear program. Of course this oozes with hypocrisy as the United States is not leading by example. Instead they are quite content to keep their own nuclear weapons.

Furthermore the history of the United States clearly teaches not only that they are warlike but their word is as good as nothing. That is the United States lies without any shame. If North Korea did capitulate to the United State’s bullying I am certain they would go the way of Libya.

So we have a standoff which if war breaks out perhaps millions of people if not more would die. So what exactly are we fighting for?  North Korea has never done anything to me nor our country for that matter. Instead of thoughtful, cautious words, we have an immature president belittling the North Korean leader calling him “Little Rocket Man”.  Mocking another person in a belligerent manner does not qualify as good diplomacy.
