The Light Of The World

“Actions speak louder than words” Light photo

My Sunday blogs are preachy and they are done that way by design. Let’s face it we can all improve ourselves and a little injection of righteousness into our psyches really isn’t going to harm anybody. We as human beings need to be constantly reminded of nobler aspirations, after all the world reminds you daily of carnal desires. Every time  you look at the cover of a Vogue Magazine with an anorexic blonde half naked a subliminal and obvious message is being sent. They are communicating, ‘This is how you should be!’ I’m hear to say, NO! to that and YES!! to spirituality.

I try to present Christian principles by being as universal as possible. For example being ‘The Light of the World’ is plagiarized right out of the Bible. However it is a tenet that is expressed in many other religions and philosophies, if perhaps in other words. I hope to make a broad appeal to all people of all faiths by promoting what is good.

So many people lack the power, courage, fortitude and the wisdom to become a leader. So many follow the crowd and in brutal honesty the crowd is immoral and directed by manipulation. We live in a cynical world where we expect politicians to lie to us yet we want to trust what the government tells us. It is a contradiction of great tragedy.

All great historical figures were those that dared to say NO! to the status quo. The reason is that we live on a planet Earth where those who have power use their power for their own personal advantage. In order for one to change things one must have great abilities. It is the rare person that can resist the temptation to cash in on their abilities and maintain their moral high ground.

I believe in the wholesomeness of the every day person. The person who is working to provide for their family is in my eyes a hero. The person that can give of themselves unselfishly is a hero. The more that you do to help somebody out, the greater your deeds. This is especially true when people advocate for those apart from themselves. It is a good thing to defend family it is a very great thing to defend the stranger.

I cast much of the blame in the world on middle management. These are the intermediaries between the rich and the poor. Middle management can view into both worlds. They see the elite with their corruption and luxury. On the other hand they see the poor worker struggling to survive barely living paycheck to paycheck. I can’t fault the very rich for selling out for a lot of possessions as it is extremely tempting. Middle management however sells out for a pittance and thus deserves harsh criticism.

Picture what you consider the ideal person to be. For me it is Jesus Christ. If you pictured the ideal person and your own image popped up you are suffering from a severe case of arrogance! What qualities did you come up with? For me Love, joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, wisdom, compassion, friendliness were top of the crop. With the realization of what you want to be  you can begin to take tangible steps in reaching your goals.

Personally for me I try to listen to everybody. However I also make a critical examination as to the state of the person giving me some advice. Do they practice what they preach? For me personally I know a lot of preachers who are hypocrites. They talk about God but are mean and nasty people. In the same way I would talk to an expert in any field to improve myself I really don’t give much heed to these pretenders.

The light of the world is a reality for us all. Everything that we do effects planet Earth in some minor way. My question to you is ‘What message are you sending?’
