Parenting is a challenge, especially for first-time parents.
But it’s even more challenging on the relationship that mom and dad share with one another. How do you deal with all the demands of taking care of a new child, while still meeting the demands and responsibilities of your relationship too?
That’s why I’m pleased to welcome Psych Central blogger Joyce Marter, LCPC to her second blog, First Comes Love: Relationship Solutions for Parents. (Her first blog, the Psychology of Success is here.)
Joyce says, “I want to deal with how the relationship is impacted when baby makes 3 in the new blog. Topics will include discussions about sex, sleep deprivation, division of labor, etc.”
“My belief is that our culture has shifted where 80% of mothers work but 80% of the housework and childcare is still being done by women. Our culture hasn’t shifted from a more traditional division of labor at home. Women are becoming exhausted and depleted and men are wondering why their partners have become so miserable and critical!” Joyce provides practical and easy suggestions to make the transition to family joyful for all.

Please give Joyce a warm Psych Central welcome!
