I am the eldest of three girls. We are only a couple years apart and we are lifelines for one another. We talk almost everyday. We can talk from across the room and not say a word, they are my closest friends and some of the only people I trust in this world. We fought, pulled each others hair, bit one another, later we slapped, punched, screamed; always making up.

We were three adolescent girls that lived in a single room together… sigh. But we all look on that time so fondly and agree we are grateful for the ‘fights’ and also the late night talks, pretend games, and ‘makeovers’. It took each of us a long time to be able to sleep in separate rooms, we fell asleep to each others breathing.

It has made them better mothers and each of us better at conflict resolution. I love them more than I thought I could ever love another.

Oh Colleen, that is so sweet! I have a sister and I have three girls. Girls living together so closely is an adventure, but it’s so essential for our hearts. Thanks for your wonderful story.

I have an 2-year-elder brother, but we are very close friend.
Thanks to my parent and how we grow up, we hardly “fight” to each other.

I sometimes dream of having sisters so that I can share more about my secret stories. 🙂
