Let’s face it – we all like instant gratification. And you can have it with the parenting tips you’ll see on this blog over the next few weeks. These quick fixes can make a big difference. Skeptical? Take a look below.
First, I’m going to tell you that my tips have nothing to do with making your kid change anything. Sorry if you were hoping I could work a little magic somehow. These tips are all about making a change on your end of things, but that’s also good news.
Let’s start with this important announcement: The only person you can truly control is yourself.

If you can fully absorb this fact, you will noticeably lower your blood pressure and reduce your stress. Lower blood pressure and lower stress will help you stay calm, improving your parenting efforts right now.
Too many parenting mistakes come from the assumption (misguided hope?) that we actually have any level of true control over our kids – or that it’s even possible. We can get so frustrated, ready to pull our hair out because we feel ineffective. The better (and more realistic) goal can do is to have reliable influence. More on that later. For now, let’s just start changing your mood and your state of mind.
