    Some great observations, Nicole. I just wish I had been born accepting my diagnosis, med-compliant, and willing to do the very hard work, daily, to stay mentally healthy. I do this now–but it took many years of denial, and many years of disastrous behavior and consequences before I actually “got it” and realized that me, and my self-awareness, were my only ticket to stability land. Ack, perhaps it’s a bipolar trait to learn lessons the hard way. I’ve certainly mastered this part. However. Once I do “get it,” I’m faithful and true to what brings me good mental health. I just wish I could find some shortcuts!
