Nicole Lyons is a mother, mental health advocate, caregiver and volunteer. She volunteers her time as a speaker and event coordinator for a Canadian Non-profit that rallies for better funding, care and suicide prevention for Canada’s Youth. While she lives with a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, Nicole does not let that define her. She believes that a diagnosis of mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, but an opportunity to live better, healthier and happier, by educating yourself, understanding your illness, and finding your way to wellness.
Nicole is the founder of The Lithium Chronicles; a Facebook page devoted to mental health awareness and support, and was a nominee of The Wego Health Award for Best in Show Facebook Page. She is loud, sassy and often times a bit blunt, but she’s working on that. Life is never dull with Nicole. She is raising two beautiful little girls who have already shown interest in fighting stigma. Nicole works daily on finding her balance, and encourages others to do the same.
