I sleep a lot too: 9 to 10 hours on a light night, and sometimes I have a nap too. Right now, I’m exercising my way back to cardio health and no matter how much people tell me that exercising should make my day longer, it really makes my nights longer.

It’s a slow time at work, but whenever I have to get into a normal rhythm again, I know I won’t be able to maintain this level of exercising.

I also like 9 or more hours sleep when I can. I’m up now after about 7 hours, I just woke up wide awake. That doesn’t happen too often…

Go to bed at 7.45 pm and sleep immediately, and then sleep until you’ve had enough sleep ??
Unbelievable ! I could NEVER do that .I’d be awake tossing and turning for hours before sleeping.
    You’re very fortunate.

I too have slept 12-14 hours and feel abnormal because of it. Yet I love how I feel when I’m rested. I escape with sleep so must be aware not to abuse sleep/my bed. I love the escapism of sleep. Although I know most people would not comprehend or understand. I appreciate you writing this piece…especially the info on the app for the phone.

Have you tried any other sleep apps out? I read another review of Sleep Cycle that claimed it made a lot of errors in the data recorded. I’m wondering if anyone has an app recommendation (for iPhone) before I start downloading and trying them all out.
