I just wanted to say thank you. I like your writing.
I sometimes suffer from insomnia, but nothing like the battle you have. I find some yogurt and a banana (magnesium?) before bed helps sometimes. And, uhhh, it’s 1:20 am, so now I will read a real book (not the internet) until I hopefully fall asleep.

I am so glad to see an article, none the less, a blog about chronic pain and insomnia! Over the past year and a half I have endured over 12 surgeries, all of them being abdominal in nature. The last open belly was to reverse my gastric bypass surgery because I was severely malnourished and weighing 99lbs! My surgeon felt/feels like he has failed me and he has not. Dr. Neff has been there for me since day #1. There are not many physicians that would share their personal email, so that a patient can get a hold of them ASAP! I now suffer from chronic pain in the abdomen and it’s intensified since I have started working out again. I am on pain medication as needed. I am glad that I read this article as it has given me renewed energy. Just knowing that I am not alone, gives me hope!! Thank you so much, this article has been a life saver and I am going to share this with my surgeon
