An Instagram account registered to Zak_Hanzal went viral for all the wrong reasons recently. Apparently, he approached Nick Jonas for a picture on the street and the singer obliged. Instead of being appreciative, the fan, who is noticeably taller than the star, shared the shot with his followers, tagged Jonas, and added the caption: “@nickjonas u need a few more inches bruhh.”

It should come as no surprise that the 24-year-old star was unimpressed and left the following comment: “You need some manners “bruh” I didn’t need to stop to take that picture with you. Just rude. Very rude.”

It didn’t take long for Jonas to gain some support with commenters agreeing that the post was uncalled for with one user saying, “Dude you are rude! He takes time out to take a photo, and that’s how you act? gets some manners!”

After a while, Jonas returned to the post to say, “hey y’all…it’s all good. No need to spread the hate.” Hanzal also addressed the situation saying, “everyone just calm the f-k down!! It was just a joke and @nickjonas is cool with it. The caption has been changed..what’s the fuss about?”

What is the new caption? Hanzal’s picture now says, “One of the most humble superstars…MY MAN @nickjonas.”

Honestly, why wouldn’t he have gone with that in the first place? Social media has, in some ways, given people this sense of entitlement and a complete lack of respect for other people. Yes, celebrities are more accessible to us now than they ever were before but that doesn’t mean that we own them or know them well enough to make an off-color joke.

At the end of the day, famous people are still just people who have the same insecurities and challenges as we do except they do it all in the public eye. So many try to make it seem as though money makes their life so much easier but the truth is that we will never know what their lives are like because we’ve never lived it.

I’m glad this situation seemed to be resolved but it was pretty obnoxious of that guy to do that!
