Did Brad Pitt Abuse One of His Children in Front of the Others?
Whenever a couple divorces, it’s pretty much guaranteed that, at least, some of their dirty laundry is going to come out. This is especially true with celebrities. One crucial thing is to always remember is that there are two sides to a story and that people are innocent until proven guilty. We seem to forget that nowadays when news articles and social media influence our opinions so heavily.
Despite some true horrors occurring in this country, life seemed to stop when it was announced that Angelina Jolie was leaving Brad Pitt. Sure, many people predicted this years ago when they started their relationship while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston but, over the years, they seemed so devoted to each other that the doubts faded away.
Of course, all this week, people have been expressing their shock and wondering what could have suddenly gone so wrong with this couple who share six children. Why would Jolie divorce Pitt now, leaving even their close friends (such as George Clooney) stunned?
New reports are saying that Pitt is under investigation for child abuse after an incident on the family’s private plane. He allegedly became verbally and physically abusive with one of their children with Jolie and the other children were present. It’s been said that he was drinking at the time.
Apparently, an anonymous report has led the Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to look into the matter. One source has said of Pitt’s reaction to the situation: “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
While all of the pieces may seem to fit together, these are serious allegations. It’s important that people not jump to conclusions. If some sort of abuse really did occur, the family needs privacy, support, and guidance to get through this as best they can. It would only make things worse, with their lives already on display, for this to all play out publicly. This is the type of situation that could make a divorce turn very, very ugly.
The child involved in the incident was not named but Jolie has requested sole physical custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins, Knox and Vivienne, 8. Hopefully, the divorce and investigation can proceed as smoothly as possible for the sake of this family.
