Bobby Brown Speaks About Daughter’s Death for First Time
It’s been a couple months since Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away and her famous father, Bobby Brown, has opened up for the first time about the sad situation. Becoming emotional several times during the interview, he expressed the opinion that, had he been with his daughter in the days leading up to being found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home, she probably would be alive today.
With his wife, Alicia Etheredge, by his side, Brown said: “If I could have been there two days before, it wouldn’t have went down like that.” Of course, that can be said of almost any tragedy. It’s very common for surviving family members to think about how a change in circumstances could have prevented the loss of a loved one.
After being in hospice care following the incident that took place on January 31, 2015, Bobbi Kristina died on July 26, 2015 at just 22 years of age. The events leading up to her death are eerily similar to how her mother, Whitney Houston, died.
He never gave up on the possibility that Bobbi Kristina could recover but, sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. “We prayed and hoped for six months, you know, for something better to happen,” he said. “But when God calls you, he calls you.”
Bobbi was buried next to her mother in New Jersey, and Brown seemed to think their closeness played a role in his daughter’s death. He said: “I’m pretty sure her mother was. … had a part with like, ‘Come on, let’s get her up here.” (Houston) was not comfortable by herself, I guess. She just called my daughter with her.”
There is no evidence that this was the case and it is a bit of a strange comment to make. Undeniably, people say odd things when they are dealing with grief. Brown and his ex-wife had a strained relationship and, when he attempted to attend her funeral, he was forced to leave. He clearly has some emotions about her relationship with their daughter but, hopefully, he can find some peace and closure.
Authorities continue to investigate Bobbi’s death which, according to a police report, was described as a drowning. While she was in-hospital and following her death, family members have disagreed and argued about the mystery surrounding the situation.
