Let me tell you something about me, in about 8 days time, my life is about to explode and I will become an over-scheduled, sometimes cranky, workaholic for the next 10 months. Along with my regular 40 hour a week full time job, I also have a part time teaching practice (that is just a few hours shy of full time). Add in a bit of volunteer work, I will be working 75+ hours a week. Now don’t get me wrong. I am at my best when I am busy. I am more creative, I feel smarter, and I smile a lot more. But one thing I am not is present. Which is why I am making a commitment to yoga. Here is where I take a moment to shout out to Alicia’s blog – Your Body, Your Mind, because this is what has pushed me over the edge to make the decision to try out this lifestyle. Through her writings, Alicia has convinced me to do something more.

Yoga and meditation will help me embrace a calm and peace that is lacking during the months of September thru June. And according to all the readings I have done (and the few experiments), it will help with my energy. Something that I need a lot of help with. And so I am going for it. A regular yoga practice is happening, as of today (as soon as I finish writing this post). But I am going to need your help, details to come at the end of this post.

And because this is a blog about celebrities, here is a list of a few celebrities that do yoga -I’ve only included ones that I will draw inspiration from, and to be honest, finding out that these folks do yoga surprised me. But after thinking about it for a bit, these are very centered folks, so we shouldn’t be so surprised.

  • Hillary Clinton
  • The LA Lakers
  • Gavin Rossdale
  • Zachary Quinto
  • Brooke Shields
  • Orlando Bloom
  • Russell Brand (centered is not how I would have originally described Mr Brand – but he is slowly changing my mind)
  • Lisa Ling
  • George Clooney
  • And everyone’s favourite Hunger Games Mentor – Woody Harrelson (this one wasn’t a surprise to me – I just love him)

And if you think that yoga isn’t for everyone- think again!

Now here is the audience participation part of this post. Remember, when I said that I am going to need your help with this challenge?  When you leave a comment on this post, I will add 10 minutes a week to yoga regime. I plan on doing yoga 5 times a week, for 40 minutes a day. But you can make me push those boundaries. What do you say, wanna help?

Maybe you could post a little something about who inspires you to have an exercise regime or regular meditation practice.
