Emotions are high today, ladies and gentlemen.
What’s been a time full of stress, anxiety, and frustration for many ended this morning when the Supreme Court of the United States ruled part of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional and rejected an appeal on California’s Proposition 8, making same-sex marriage in California legal once again.
Of course, this doesn’t make California the only state to make same-sex marriage legal, but it does mark a significant victory for same-sex marriage supporters everywhere.
Once SCOTUS ruled DOMA unconstitutional, straight and gay celebrities alike immediately took to social media to show their support. Alyssa Milano, Adam Lambert, Ricky Martin, Tegan and Sara, Sarah Hyland, and Ben Affleck all showed their happiness over the SCOTUS rulings:
A big day for equality and human rights. I'm smiling so big right now.

Some celebs have had an even stronger reaction. Kristen Bell, for example, proposed to her long-time partner Dax Shepard on Twitter! The two have considered themselves married but refused to make it legal until everyone was allowed to make it legal.
