“Why Do Protests Happen?” A Traumatic History We Can’t Forget

protest photoWhat do you know about the history of America’s protests?

Protests and Riots have a long history in the U.S. A long traumatic history to be exact.

Protest and riots were started around 1886 during the Anarchist Movement.

The Civil Rights movement obviously entailed many protests and began with Dr. King.

In this video, I discuss our traumatic history and some of the traumatic aspects of George Floyd’s protests that may impact your future.

Protests often have an educational and unifying goal for everyone involved but they also have had a murderous history. Dangerous and murderous protests have a place in our history. Tiananmen Square protests led to students being murdered by the law enforcement in Beijing, Orangeburg Massacre began with a protest at South Carolina State University, a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, etc. Our history is full of violence.

*But thankfully today’s leaders of protests have pushed for more unity and peace. And this is exactly what happened this past Saturday.

In this video, I review some history and reflect on what George Floyd’s protests have done to us as a nation and as individuals.

I wish you well and welcome your comments
