What’s more brutal than honesty, really? But good for you, being ready to change!

I’ve been in therapy for a few years. Working on relationships, my mom, my dad, my kids and my marriage. Your post is all true. I don’t think I could have worked it all out on my own. Still married, 25 years, still personally working it out. Good post, really.

I think the work part is true–we have to keep working on ourselves, and on the relationships. Hopefully, you’re reaping the rewards.

It’s good information and true. But when you need to take the step your partner always make you feel guilty of your decision because it’s not what they want. So, you still tramp in your unhappy circle. Screaming inside you for break free. 🙁

Think of this as a temporary state. Eventually, your ex will stop pushing your guilty buttons and will get on with their life, and you’ll be focused on yours. It might be an unhappy circle, but it’s not the same circle. It’ll have an exit.

Excellent article. Far too many people stay in unhealthy relationships. Unfortunately, I think the vast majority of them instinctively know they should be moving on, but some fear keeps them in the relationship (financial, loneliness, etc.)
