I thing the doctor could have added how Abilify is a TREMENDOUS help to people with bipolar disorder, especially as many are prescribed an antipsychotic, some of which can have scary side effects. Abilify is not known to have any . I spent many productive years on Abilify, and it helped me gain new interests, and a lot of new (and loyal) friends. As with any antipsychotic, Abilify can bring on Tardive Dyskinesia, but it is a much milder and safer drug than the others. I eventually had to go off of it, and it took me 10 months, but most other people take a lot less time. The benefits, skills, interests, and friends remain a part of my life and help me immensely in coping with Bipolar Disorder.

I myself have been through a lot in the past seven years since being diagnosed and at one time was taking up to 9 medications, but it was the ability that always remained constant. For me, the ability helps a great deal with my anxiety. I know everybody is different, but I support this drug.
