    Excellent and concise article,, Having BD, a great concern.. esp now in 60s and having had the illness for 40+yrs. I so agree about the factors that seem to go with it.. such as the weight.. a lot of which is due to meds and is so hard to get off.. as well as the inactivity that comes from long periods of depression.. the anxiety that causes tension and blood pressure increase. There is no mention of stress on heart from numerous ect treatments.. but fortunately , a lot don’t have to go that route.. Hopefully with further advancement in treatment, such as ketamine derivatives and other rapid and effective solutions for the 30 odd per cent that have treatment resistance to present alternatives, suicide will go down and life expectancy will go up as heart and other physical co = ‘happening’ problems diminish..
