    Also adolescents are not dumb. There are lots of side effects from the meds. And it takes time for a medical professional to build a relationship with someone who is on meds for a behavioral diagnosis. Trust building is very important for someone on this path. People also don’t take meds because they read about how other countries have more options other than pharmaceuticals to address the symptoms, or options in addition to the meds. (And not just talking.)To label someone as being non compliant gives the message that the person is not important enough for a professional to sit down and listen to them or take their situation seriously. More needs to be done in the area of recovery priniciples.
