—There is still a stigma around mental health…

Truthfully? There are still people who say there is.

Unfortunately, there is still a lot of stigma around mental illness, but it has certainly improved from what it used to be and it is headed in a more positive direction. Have a great day and thanks so much for reading. 🙂

There is a world of difference between there is a stigma and there are people who continue to say there is. I prefer not to bolster them.

This is an excellent post. I found it very moving to read and appreciated the honesty from everyone. There is understandable sadness about the difficulties of the early years, especially because you didn’t have the information and support that world have been so helpful. But love, strength and perseverance got you all through and I’m so glad to know that you have good understanding and consistent support from your parents. Open posts like this will help other families so you’ve done a great thing. The advice your parents give at the end is clear and super helpful. Warmest thanks and best wishes to the 3 of you.
