June: Positives During Coronavirus Part 1

Continuing on with my positivity during Coronavirus series, I wanted to share my positives so far this month. As always, I’d love for you to share yours in the comments if you’d like to.

Some beautiful hikes and a picnic

Now that we’ve been allowed to travel locally for exercise we’ve been getting back to doing a lot of hiking and it’s been so amazing! We’ve done some beautiful hikes, in some beautiful weather. We’ve been able to truly enjoy being back in nature and away from the city, and our dogs have too! We even found a really quiet picnic spot and were able to have a picnic after work one evening.

My chihuahua learning a trick

My chihuahua is extremely intelligent, but also highly stubborn (I’m sure other chihuahua owners will understand that). When I teach her commands, she knows exactly what I want her to do very quickly, but whether she chooses to actually participate is very much dependant on how she feels. However recently she learnt how to give a high five and actually has been doing so on command (ish). It made me smile.

Being able to see my mother in law

In Scotland, the rules have recently changed and we’ve been allowed to meet up with family members locally, outside while maintaining social distancing. For the first time since lockdown started, we were able to meet up with my mother in law! It was fantastic to see her, although strange to have to stay so far apart. What a blessing to be able to see one another.

Recovering from dental surgery

I have recently been very unwell and was taken into hospital. I then had some strong antibiotics and emergency dental surgery. I am so thankful for all of the NHS workers who helped me even during this stressful time, and for the amazing care I was given. I’m also incredibly thankful that I’m now recovering well at home and feeling much more like myself again.

Feeding cygnets, swans and ducks

We always see a swan on one of our regular walks and she’s very friendly, so recently I ordered some swan food. We have been taking some with us to feed her each walk and she loves it! We even met another swan with 2 very newborn cygnets. They came so close to us and we were able to feed them. It was truly an honour and lifted my spirits.
