It’s back. That dark monster that latches to my back puling me down, down, down. It seems like a few days ago I was “normal.” I was coasting on a smooth lake.

I have not experienced this level of depression neither in severity or duration. What I have experienced is smaller but it’s a narrowing of options like you say. A constant thought of being stuck and staying stuck. I like the sentiment to just ‘try’ and do an activity of daily living like just a shower. My idea for you is learning self hypnosis. I’ve done it and if anything it takes your mind off the darkness for a bit. Best case scenario it refocuses your mind and changes your outlook allowing you to accomplish something big…like getting out of bed. There are YouTube vids about self hypnosis but maybe invest in an audio book or something.
