    I was just terribly sad…

I’m sorry but feeling “sad” isn’t depression.
“My mom mentioned today that I am spending a lot of money. I don’t agree, but I can see where she is coming from. Barnes & Noble, Wish.com, Kohl’s, coffees. It does add up and I am poor. I honestly live below the poverty level.” If this is your poverty line you really need to assess how you live compared to others.

You article does not represent persons with bipolar disorder. “Being Beautifully Bipolar” is not the title someone who truly battles bipolar disorder every single day of their life would give to their blog.

What you’ve written here resembles what someone with borderline personality disorder would write, and a psychologist and psychiatrist are treating as bipolar because having this label calms down your borderline personality and makes everyones life easier.

You are a creative writer. This is demonstrated more than bipolar disorder in this article and I’m very surprised that PsychCentral would allow this on their site.

    My qualifications:
    Bachelor of Psychology
    Master of Psychology and Neuroscience
    PhD Neuroscience
Diagnosed bipolar disorder 18 years ago.

This is preposterous. A colleague sent me the link to this article. I can certainly understand their frustration at reading this. As a clinician, this is not the behaviour or attitude of a person with bipolar disorder.

I sincerely hope the author receives the appropriate care they need, but it does need to be known that this just isn’t what a true representation of bipolar disorder.
