There are reasons for our ‘crazy’ and triggers that can send us there immediately. I just came off the very edge of my particular teeter totter the other day, after a 10 day stay, and while speaking to my sister of how I got there reminded her of how easily childhood trauma from siblings can put us in that position immediately. I could hear her say ‘yeah, yeah’, but underneath that sound, I think I actually, for the first time, heard understanding and guilt. For her to realize that so many of her actions, that for her were off the cuff so long ago, could send me to the edge in an instant for a lifetime is a milestone. I have worked for some 30 plus years in the education of my family as to this disorder now. It has been absolute hell, but finally it may be paying off.
