Bipolar Wellness

I am currently sick as a dog with some cold my boyfriend brought home and was sweet enough to share with me, so I am trying to take care of myself and get better before I leave town next week.

Thanks so much for sharing this -all great strategies!

Amongst other things, I journal (life saver); reading and films help me get me out of my head and my world.

My work in healthcare helps; the compassion I feel is actually helpful to me, making a difference in other people’s lives, working with people who are hurting in all kinds of ways, and are so vulnerable and often brave, helps me keep perspective; we all hurt, just in different ways.

To add to this list, I must eliminate as much stress as possible from my life. I can’t eliminate ALL of it, but most of it.

I also must limit or eliminate toxic to me people. They literally make me sick, with their drama or judgmentalism (is that a word?).

These two are just as important to me as all of the above.

Ditto the sleep and pets as wellness tools! Even better — sleep with a pet cozied up on your bed! 🙂
