Don’t get me wrong, I think therapy is of the utmost importance for us – really for anyone. It is a time and place when and where you can be completely honest. Good for us.
But here’s the thing – finding the right therapist. it can be a challenge. You DO NOT have to go to the first the therapist you visit. I tell people to give the therapists 3 chances to win you over, if it isn’t a fit – find a new one. There are plenty of them out there.
Currently I am seeing a therapist and I have seen her twice, I am supposed to see her again this week, but I may break my own rule and try someone new.
I will, however, find someone to counsel me because sometimes I need some to listen and help problem solve. I need a profession sounding board.
