2 thoughts on “Checking Out: Not the Solution to Money Worries

I have that tendency to “check out” too, ’cause it’s too painful to think of severely curtailing my habits. However, I went to a crafts store one day picking out some jewelry making items….”Oh, just $2.00….Oh, this is only $1.50.” I almost fell over when I got rung up and my total was over $100! What a reality check on how a dollar here and a dollar there can add up!

I still am too anxious to monitor my spending that closely [God forbid I must change my ways!], but I have to say….I have since put that craft store receipt on my fridge as a reminder how those “little dollars” add up. Now I do, at least, think twice and have reconsidered putting away a small amount in savings per paycheck, even if it seems futile,’cause I know better now.
