One thought on “Looking in All the Wrong Places: Passive Suicide and COVID-19

This was an article I didn’t expect to see, even on a psych website. I’m not sure why I am surprised because it IS a site that educates and supports others so it makes sense!
My first thought? I am in my late 50’s and initially this virus threat and all of the unknowns and life changes really amped up my anxiety. I was reading about it to educate myself but it got a little obsessive. My therapist helped me with that and now I feel I am more extreme in the other direction after a period of being stable and using caution. I don’t really care about it in terms of myself. My attitude for me has changed to “If I get it, I get it. It’s not something I can control anyway.”
But I have been noticing increasing and extreme insomnia lately and some depression so maybe my new attitude with regard to the virus is not as healthy as I like to believe.
Either way, I think your article is helpful and I hope everyone stays safe.
