    so if people under hypnosis do not lose control of themselves, how can they be made to forget their own name, how to count to 10, move their own body, speak or understand the english language or even not recognize their own face in a mirror or their own spouse or child? i would certainly be very upset , disturbed & embarrassed if i were forced into doing such irrational & foolish actions.

    i understand that these examples are not typically done in therapy but just the idea of being put in such a vulnerable state of confusion & so easily manipulated into being not being able to function in reality makes hypnosis a very dangerous proposition.
