Due to ADHD and Other Circumstances …

Being looked after ...

… beyond my control, there will not be a regular blog post today. Ill health has descended on my home and has become the main topic of conversation. Yes, I’m alone, but you all know already that I talk to myself, right?

Anyway, influenza has commenced to influence the weather inside my head. A warm front interspersed with frequent chills has taken over creating a vast fog bank rolling around between my ears.

Frequent foghorns can be heard, though I suspect only by me, and there is a flurry of hankies falling in the laundry hamper area.

Household traffic, far from being at a standstill, is still confusing to watch. Trips to this part of the house or that usually end up in the wrong area or, worse still, back where they started from without ever having been anywhere near their original destination. I’m blaming the fog for this, but that doesn’t help when the destination was the bathroom.

But as we all know, ADHD is context sensitive. And ADHD in the context of a heavy cerebral fog is not going to bode well for errand completion.

I found my way to my office on three separate occasions and on each one, I failed to complete the necessary steps required to cause a blog post to be published. I can only apologize profusely for this and hope that it doesn’t happen again. You deserve better.

To make it up to you I have a treat coming your way on Wednesday. Will I be better by then? Doubtful, but that’s okay. Wednesdays post is all ready to go, and I like it. (No, I don’t always like what I write, I have better taste than that … )

Now, I’m off to rest and try to recuperate. You get to look forward to Wednesday’s post, but I have to start thinking about Friday’s.

Again, please accept my apologies for today’s missing post … and please, please, please – stay tuned.

Due to ADHD and Other Circumstances …

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
