“In reality, these drugs are quite different from marijuana, and likely even more dangerous”.

    LIKELY even more dangerous?

WOW, talk about losing all credibility there.

There is not a recreational drug, nor medicine that is any ‘safer’ than marijuana. How about we start at that foundation so no one gets hurt by misinformation.

Not a bad article, however I am a bit perplexed at the inclusion of 2C-I. I work in a psychiatric facility & have seen a fair bit of admissions due to various synthetic cannabinoids, some for pyrovalerone stimulants (bath salt type products) but zero for any serotonergic psychedelic, let alone an obscure one like 2C-I. Seriously none in 3 years. And the statistics you cite seem to verify my anecdotal observation. 2000 cases in 5 years? & little indication it’s popularity will ever approach that of “classical” psychedelics like LSD or psiloc[yb]in containing mushrooms. Also the duration for primary effects of 2C-I is 8-12 hours, not “days.” While you raise some good points in the first two sections, the third comes off as ill informed at best, fear mongering at worst.

Of course, if the genuine products were available, then these youths (do we still classify as youths when we’re over 60, as most drug users (use != abuse) I know are?) wouldn’t need to risk their lives anywhere near as much in their efforts to get high.
