How we start our days can often make or break our mood. I think the same is true for body image. Here are 10 simple ways to start the day on a positive note that either directly or indirectly boost your body image.
1. Move your body. This isn’t about punishing your body into weight-loss submission or purging it of last night’s calories. This is about engaging your mind and body in pleasurable movement. About getting those feel-good endorphins circulating through your bones.

Wonderful list! I think I could just look at the gorgeous picture that accompanies this post for a few minutes and have a glorious day. ♥
Thanks, Anna! I love the picture, too. It’s just so soothing.
HECK YES to #1. That always, no matter what, boosts my body image. Just knowing that I did something good for myself (and that my body pushed through a nice workout) is a great boost.
Oh, and #10. There’s a huge difference in how I feel about myself when I’m just sitting around in pajamas compared to actually doing my hair and getting dressed. So much better in the latter!
@ Julia H., totally! I spend many days in my PJs because I work from home. You’d think I’d learn by now, because instead of feeling comfy and cozy, I end up just feeling lethargic and yucky. So getting dressed in the morning is so important. (And taking a shower is a good idea, too…hehe.)
Loved this list/article so much that I included it in my column, “The Goods” in the premiere issue of See Magazine: http://issuu.com/seemagazine/docs/january2012
Thanks for the inspiration and hope you have a great new year
