We may feel anxious and stressed out, anticipating an arduous week, especially if we didn’t get much rest and relaxation during the weekend. These kinds of feelings don’t create the best environment for improving one’s body image. In fact, you might be harder on yourself and easily frustrated. You might even feel like you’re walking on egg shells – with yourself! With these posts, I hope you’ll have a healthier and happier body image day, that’ll last throughout the week.

Health for the Whole Self, a healthy living blog written by Katie, is one of my favorite daily stops. Her posts are thought-provoking, well-written and helpful. Recently, I came across a post from her archives about writing a six-word memoir, which I had to share with Weightless readers.
What’s a six-word memoir?
It’s telling your story in six words. It was inspired by Ernest Hemingway, who, according to folklore, was once asked in a bar bet to compose a story in six words. He came up with this:

Katie wrote about creating healthy living memoirs. These are some of my favorites from her post.
Since body image is always on my brain, I think that writing a six-word memoir is a great way to creatively explore your body image struggles and triumphs. You can write a six-word memoir that reminds you to love your body and post it on your inspiration board. You can start writing a six-word memoir a few times a week to document how you feel about your body. To explore your emotions and process them in a healthy way. You could ask your daughter to create one to get a sense of her body image. You can get your friends involved, too.
Basically, there are tons of ways you can apply the six-word memoir technique to improving your body image. Consider how creating a six-word memoir might best help you, and go with it!
