In 20 years it will be my 40th year since graduation. I never went to any of the reunions. I was a loner in H.S. and had a few staggeringly painful teenage episodes (I was the poster girl for angst before it was cool).
I hate to rain on your article, but there are some of us who just never want to see or talk to any of the 650 other inmates of Robert E. Lee High School (can you say “wasp”)
I really only wrote this because of your last line, “Childhood is a precious memory.) Childhood has been a lasting pain I’ve spent my adult life honestly seeking healing and longing to find some precious memories of my own. I’ve looked, I just didn’t find any.
I have already passed my 40th high school reunion. I didn’t go to any of them and I hope they have lost my address.
I am live near Robert E. Lee High School now. In fact I drive by it when I take a short cut to the Atlanta Highway. I attended Tuscaloosa High in the 1950/60′s. I graduated in 61.
