Hi Steven,
First, this is probably a great question for your psychiatrist or even a neurologist, but sure, this alters your mood. In fact, it can be used itself as a kind of "drug" or way to "self-medicate" and a way to avoid painful issues.
Second, the issue in and of itself can be something you might want to address if it is interfering in your life, for example, taking away from your interest in developing healthy relationships, or using up time that would be better spent on other, more productive activities.
I hope that is helpful-might I suggest you discuss it with your therapist.
All the best,
Richard

Mine is a question. Drugs and Alcohol have been mentioned as mood altering addictive chemicals. I have been diagnosed bi-polar, anxiety and OCD. Would sex addiction be considered a chemical mood altering habit. I am very blah if I "take a day off". I am on about 8 prescription meds. I am wondering if I am causing a fluctuation in my brain that is bad for my mental illness and the effectiveness of my prescription meds?
