Really thought provoking article! I think that the one big benefit to having small to no family is that it forces a person to develop more of a ‘global’ outlook as opposed to a ‘tribal’ one. Which possibly increases that person’s level of compassion and tolerance.
I have a friend who talks of her “tribe,” which is actually not family but a group of like-minded
friends. I love that spin on it.
