As an addiction counselor, I have found this series on Mindfulness and Addiction extremely useful. I am currently incorporating mindfulness into my “Living Skills” group. Unfortunately, because mindfulness is a newer concept in the field (many of my clients have been through multiple programs), I have run into a lot of client resistance to the idea; I am hoping that, as I keep at it, my ability to engage the clients with the concept will improve. Please keep posting tools and tips that can be incorporated into addiction treatment!

My name is Vasant, and I’m from Nepal. I have problems with masturbation with pornography addiction and i’m also addicted with nicotine. I’v read a lot of articals related with mindfulness and its use in addictions. Currently I’m trying my best to use mindfulness to help my addictions.Surely I’ve started to see some changes,but the changes are very very mild. I’m starting to realise that this technique helps an individual to be with those gloomy thoughts and feelings that act as a trigger to perform those cumpulsive acts.
I went through your blogs, and by reading such blogs it gives me courage and inspiration to continue with my mindfulness practices.Thankyou so much for this blog,as it added an extra dimension to my practice, and to my patience to continue with my paractice. I hope it’l be of great help to many others who suffer from such addictions.Let there be peace on earth and let there be no addictions, “ADDICTIONS ARE HELL”.
Not being an expert in these fields. I am at a total loss. I would like to read on this subject-any books to recommend? Re: Cigarette Addict.
