  • Mindfulness is extremely useful when it comes to forgiveness in relationships. When we take a moment to feel our anger or resentment in our bodies, and curiously ask “What is this?”, we often find that under the negativity is sadness or hurt — feeling ignored or misunderstood is often a core underlying feeling. Then, instead of reacting, breathe into that core feeling. It is surprising how often what we don’t forgive in others we don’t allow ourselves to forgive in ourselves. Opening with compassion to that hurt and sadness can allow us to be more forgiving and intimate with ourselves and others.
