The older I get, the younger I feel.
And I’m not talking about in my body.

I thoroughly agree- as I reach my mid 40s and progress in my recovery I have a greater sense of wonder and I would add of beauty as well. I’m increasingly aware of and amazed by the wonder and beauty of small, everyday things. I don’t always remember this or feel that way though, so this is a great reminder to retain my sense of wonder and beauty and to focus on them in the tough times.
I agree Marcy – and actually, that is why I love blogging about things I want to remember because it helps me remember them better! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again for reading and sharing your thoughts!
Marcy and Shannon, I love that you have turned your challenges into gifts. What a great gift it is to see life afresh, to rejoice in the miracle of being, and to have that come about because you have suffered and learnt and journeyed and grown. We teach what we most need to know. Writing helps me also remember what I need to learn. Thanks to both of you for your contribution.
Thank you Margie for such kind words!
Hi Shannon!
It sounds like you and I were a lot alike with being so serious all the time. I’m 35 and have finally lightened up too! Life is much more manageable now, and way more fun!
I love this post, and I hope it gets to all the “too serious” people out there. I know that anorexia steals laughter from many of us.
I often laugh at myself these days, but even better is when I can laugh at what a ridiculous idiot ED is!
And yes Shannon, you ARE very funny! I loved how you were able to inject your sense of humor into your story when I saw you present in Grayslake, IL.
Keep laughing, keep wondering!
