Welcome to the World Mental Health Day Blog Party

Welcome to the World Mental Health Day Blog Party.

Psych Central is proud to host the first blog party devoted to World Mental Health Day, October 10, 2011. Bloggers from around the world will come together on this day to help spread their stories and educate others about mental health concerns, decrease the prejudice and stigma that is often directed toward mental illness, and discuss things that help a person overcome their disorder or mental health concern.

Mental health or emotional health is a big component of our everyday life, yet it often is pushed down or minimized as something that doesn’t really matter. But it connects our thoughts, our feelings and behaviors together. When one of these things gets out of whack, so can our lives.

The World Health Organization (WHO) designated October 10 as World Mental Health Day to help spotlight the lack of care mental disorders often receive around the world. We hope to help increase awareness of these disorders and their treatment through hosting this blog party.

Post the “I’m Blogging for World Mental Health Day” badge on your blog and help proudly spread the word about the importance of mental health. Just copy and paste the badge code below into your post or blog:
