I am aware that I often live my life by pushing down the hold button. Or waiting until
So many Some Days. So many “When ____ happens, then I’ll ____.” Go on, fill in the blank. I bet you have one too.
Am I trying to sell myself a bill of goods? One magical day, my life will improve. It will get better. It will land at the magical place where there is no fear. I will be READY! Wait a minute..Wow –that’s just way too overwhelming to even consider the journey to get me there!…and Push back down goes that hold button once more.
Yes, I let lots of stuff stop me.
I’m learning there may not come a time when all the planets are aligned perfectly and the Leslie fairies are busy sprinkling their fairy dust from above.
The time may not arrive when I can say “I am ready.” Lord knows it hasn’t happened very many times. Well, except for the “I am ready for dinner or I am ready to fall into bed.”
If the past is a predictor, my “perfect time” may never arrive. It ain’t shown up yet and I leave the porch light on every night.
Or maybe it will arrive but, truthfully? I’m feeling like I just don’t have the time to wait anymore.
Maybe, none of us can afford to wait any longer to go for whatever it is we crave.
Joel Osteen often mentions that God wouldn’t have put a dream – a desire in our hearts if we weren’t meant to have it. But we have to do our part. Step out in faith (oooooo – that’s the scary part)
Somewhere I heard that you jump first and then you grow your wings! Are you waiting to feel ready and confidant? Maybe the confidence comes after we take the risk!
Hold my hand and let’s do this!
