The Hygiene of Depression... It Stinks

Husband: we seem to have a surplus of hygiene products… Is there something you’re not telling me?

Wife: Go Away!

Title: Depression Really Stinks

The Hygiene of Depression… It Stinks

It is no secret that the last thing you want to do when you’re depressed is get out of bed. I could be embedded to my bed. Yes, we joke sometimes that the first clue friends, caregivers or even our doctors might have to determine if we’re depressed is our hygiene. The smellier we are… the more depressed we may seem to be… a stereotypical analogy just stinks.

I think, it’s a little bit of a misnomer.   f a person really cared about us, they should’ve been able to figure out that we were depressed long before they realize we have not bought new hygiene products in quite a while.

Five Spring and Mental Health Facts
1. Without Spring agoraphobics would not have a good reason to leave the house.

2. Without Spring psychiatrists could not diagnosis Seasonal affective disorder.

3. Spring is the only time during the year we can blame our problems on that Damn Vernal Equinox!

4. Spring causes more irrational thinking then any other time of the year. It is blamed for more HOT girls dating some real sketchy and weird or Nerdy men. (Side Point: Guys now is the time to ask out that hot chic in your group!)

5. It’s the only time of the year we Depressed people can remember to take our Spring Showers.

These are not real facts… They are based on my own conclusions from years of observation. They have not been, nor should they EVER be reviewed by any professionals in fear that they just might agree with me.

Restoril medications that make you sleep

Living with a Sleepless Mind adds stress to my life! Sleeping issues are normally one of the key factors in the identification of a mental health disorder. Granted, it is not the only factor, but it seems to come up a lot.

Some of the very first questions a therapist asks is “How are you sleeping?” Does identifying our sleep pattern really help identify our mental state or help with a diagnosis?
