As we come ever closer to the END of the year, there is a lot of BUZZ about the END OF THE WORLD in biblical proportion. The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012 and many people feel this is the day, the end of life as we know it. Are the Mayan’s right? Are we living in the time of the end? If you read your bible, you will no doubt, recall other bible prophecies referring to the period of time we live in as the “conclusion” or “the end.”
Fear not! For this end is not the complete destruction of the earth. As if the ultimate power in the universe, the Imperial Death Star, is about to power up its weapon aiming it at the earth. No, the end of the earth…will not play out as in the 1998 “Armageddon” with an asteroid the size of Texas about to impact Earth and we have to call on Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton and Ben Affleck (of all people) to save us. NO, the earth WON”T END! Still don’t believe me??? To quote Darth Vader: “I find your lack of faith disturbing” (two good movies, though).
The bible even tells us that the earth will be here forever… and as Prince said “forever is a mighty long time.”
International Standard Version bible says at Psalm 104:5 -“He established the earth on its foundations, so that it never falters.” And the World English Bible says at Isaiah 45:18:
