Caption: Do You Obsess?

Do you obsess about things that really have no huge impact on your life?  You just can’t stop letting it preoccupy your mind!  I do, and some of the stuff fills my mind continually, for no reason, and it drives me up a wall! Sometimes I obsess over what I “believe” others are saying about me even if they’ve only just glanced my way. Instantly, my brain imputes bad motives for the glance.  That falls into my paranoid state and if I catch it in time, I usually recognize and dismiss it as a symptom of my diagnosis.

I’ve been obsessing about this FC2 LOGO contest. I can’t get the stupid thing out of my head. Yes, I want to win, but the prize is only a $50.00 gift card at Amazon. It does not balance out all the work I put into drawing it and promoting it. Gosh, you would think it was for a huge prize the way I’ve been bugging my Facebook and Twitter Friends about voting for it… SORRY about that peeps!!

UPDATE: Kmart Taking Action On Offensive T-shirts

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

KMart is Krazy 150It’s been 5 days since I posted “Kmart Stigmatizes Children With Mental Illness – Selling Offensive T-shirts.”  It was more of my own personal rant because I was shocked at the advertisement in a K-mart flyer.  In the published promotion, Juniors’ tees were being sold for $9.89 with what I felt was a stigmatizing message.  I took a picture and posted it in the blog post linked above.

On the first shirt it says, “I’M NOT CRAZY! MY IMAGINARY FRIENDS CAN PROVE IT!” And the second T-shirt said: “GONE CRAZY, BACK IN 5 Minutes.

While my Facebook friends got a little vocal (see quotes below)… My twitter peeps took it even a step further. After receiving an e-mail about my post,  Founder, President and Host of The Coffee Klatch* brought the problem right to the source!

Kmart Stigmatizes Children With Mental Illness – Selling Offensive T-shirts

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

KMart is Krazy 150Today, like every Sunday, I opened the newspaper to see what was new in the world. Then I checked out what was on sale, going through the flyers of local, brand-name stores.  Today, I was shocked at the advertisement in a K-mart flyer.

On the Family Denim Event page, dead center of the layout, was Juniors’ tees being sold for $9.89 with a message on the front so stigmatizing that I had to take a picture and post it in today’s blog post.

Stigmatic expressions toward mental illness; what I would only have expected to see online has now gone mainstream!

On the first shirt it says, “I’M NOT CRAZY! MY IMAGINARY FRIENDS CAN PROVE IT!” And the second T-shirt said: “GONE CRAZY, BACK IN 5 Minutes.
